Sherif Adel is an Egyptian cartoonist and dentist. He equally dedicates his time for art and science, and gets different kinds of satisfaction from both. He started his journey into sequential arts in 2011 when he launched his webcomic titled “Barbatoze comics”. Sherif started doing social and political comedy and was published in various magazines and newspapers, including El-Sherouk, Daily News Egypt, Kalimat, and Tosh-Fesh, as well as several digital news portals including Huna-Sotak and Al-Akhbar. In 2014, he started his SciFi comedy serialized magazine titled “Pass By Tomorrow - فوت علينا بكرة”. The magazine was published and distributed in Egypt and was a critical success. It was nominated for best comics magazine in CairoComix 2015, and was exhibited in various festivals in Egypt, Germany, South Africa, and Czech. In 2017, Sherif moved to Tokyo to work on his PhD in dental medicine. Keeping his passion for comics, he started doing an autobiographical comicstrip titled “Gaijin Falafel” which was serialized in Metropolis magazine. Sherif continues to strive for excellence in both art and science.
